I am also a member over at Ls1tech as well. I found a couple pictures from a couple T/A owners from the site that posted pictures of their neon lighted hoods. Im not a fan. http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k289/Camaro615/IMG_0322.jpg

:hitit:
just as long as it isn't accompanied by neon under the car, in the car, attached to the driver of the car etc...

The bottom car with the red in the intake is mine. That's all the exterior neon I have, and it's off 99.9% of the time. I don't dig the underbody stuff...I do, however also have it in my footwells, and under my front seats to shine in the back...

Odd because I do like it, but I still wouldn't do it for fear of being labeled a ricer..:dot:

I did it similar to the way in the link supplied above. I had the neon, so all I really bought was the aluminum tape and the switch. I tapped into the hot wire of the stereo, ran a ground from the switch, (the switch has a little red LED) and the neon to the switch. I then disconnected the cigarette lighter and put the switch in there. No holes to drill inside the car. I did have to drill tiny holes to secure the neon in place below the intake...Took all of maybe an hour or so...
Don't remember how much the neon was (I got it while I was in Japan), I think the tape was $8 or so, and the switch was probably about $3...

I am the owner of the car with the blue neon. Mine is usually off too (got busted by a grumpy local cop once), but I think if you saw it in person you'd think it looks pretty cool. I did not go the cheapo route and when you see it at night you can't see the bulbs or LEDs or some other cheap installations i've seen around (I used the aluminum reflective tape method as well).
Like it or hate it, it doesnt matter to me. I like it, and it does attract some attention (as if the LM exhaust isnt enough ;-) )
No there is no undercar neon, and none anywhere else on the car, and never ever will be. Aside from the 'side vent turn signal lights' everything else on the car is function only. (LM2 exhaust, TSP airlid, KONI shocks, Canton accusump, fan switch, SFCs, and Kumho 710s to RACE ON!)

I think it would look AWESOME with a nitrous purge coming out the nostrils. Especially the red, would totally look like a dragon.

i wouldn't do it. If i would, think a really soft glow would look way better so it's not so over-the-top/in your face.

The way I would set up a glow for T/A is, done the right way, reflective tape style, very suttle glows out the nostrils, the side grates, and wheel wells. Not enough to reflect on the street, but just barely enough to be noticable. IMO it's the attention to detail that really matters.
But unfortunately that will get you a ticket in most places, so I say just stick to the loud exhaust and crazy speed haha.
