i have a 96 trans am 5.7L lt1 with k&n cai, 6 speed short shift and bolra catback exhaust, and i am fixing to get pacesetter headers. Should i or do i need to get it tuned after i get my headers on?
thanks

it is not required, but i would strongly recommend it. I put the LT Pacesetters on my 99 Trans Am and after a tune, gained over 20RWHP and over 30TQ over what the headers already add so a tune would def help.

Ceramic coated is the way too go.
Cuts down on under hood temps

A tune can be expensive though, so weigh that with your goals for the car. If you intend to go with heads and cam and full bolt-ons then it may benefit you more in the long run to get your car tuned when you really need it. You should see some benefit from a tune with headers though, since the car will detect the larger movement of exhaust and a lean condition and adjust the fuel/air to run rich.
But real cars should chop and stink! ;)

Yeah old school, "Chop and stink" used to refer to big cams, but with long tubes you will be getting a smaller but similar effect.
It should make small children light headed, and terrify small animals! :seesaw:
