I have used the clay bar and had good results also. Its amazing how much crap gets into a daily drivers paint.

I was under the impression that cars with clearcoat (like ours) that using a Clay Bar would be to abrasive and ruin the clearcoat...?

no this kit was "safe for clearcoats" and i took 4 years in auto body classes and i saw nothing but impurities coming off the paint. if you get a kit it shows you how to use it properly. i recommend it to anyone

Is that the factory paint job? If so, you've done a great job because that doesn't look like paint that is nearly 10 years old.

awesome, and your car looks amazing. The reason I asked/commented was because I was looking into the Zaino Kit that has a Clay Bar for my '00 SS. I didnt want to get something that would hurt the paint rather than fixing it. Thanks for the insight.

That looks damn good! It's not everyday you get to see the results of a claybar because most cars aren't oxidized and contaminated like that.

I got the zaino clay bar, i assumed that wouldnt hurt the paint since so many people have used it...

Yup...your old school now.....takes some elbow grease but the results are the same everytime....what did you use for your lubricant? I use Dawn dishwashing detergent and claybar.

is dawn better?

Dawn removes wax. But so does some clay bars. I would us a detailer spray it would have way better results than dish washing soap. Dawn is ok to use every now and then but over repeated us it can cause paint to dull. I would not recomend dawn.
