Me vs SVT Stang..

I have this posted on LS1Tech too for any that read both boards, just thought I would share with you all here as well..

Ok, I was on the way to work in lovely downtown Renton this AM. and a black on black on black 01-03 ? SVT Mustang slides up along my left. It's a posted 40 and I am rolling at about 45... He jumps it a couple times and idles back to pace me... I look about. NADA but a couple trucks and a wagon behind us.... OK I think, its on..
Now I have heard that this things are bad, but JESUS... I have some basic mods, small cam, small stall lid catback etc a basic tune. and I THOUGHT I ran fairly strong.. so I pulled it back to drive.. did my best to prepare.. He looked over, grinned at me like he was Captain Howdy.. he yells "On THREE" and beep..beep.. beep. I attempt to put my right foot down to the asphalt...I hear this godawful ( I say with utter envy) noise as the blower winds up and he simply walks away.... I mean bye bye bye....I hit 100-105 and he has to be 2-4 cars ahead.. I don't race alot and I am not the best judge of distance, but its an easy two cars.. SO, if you were in that beast this morning out near Grady and Petrovisky God Damn man that thing is MEAN and beautiful. I will take my ass kickin like a man. ( I hope) :denied:

My guess is he had a rather large cam in that thing along w/ his blower. Superchargers do wonderful things to all cars, imagine one in yours...

just put in a CAI in mine...

it increased the blower whine 50%...or so it seems....

he probably had exhaust also...

with his mod, the cobra couldnt pull on him like that.. defineetly that cobra was pullied.. pullied cobras are very fast!

My buddies 04 Cobra Vert put down 484rwhp so yes pullied Cobra would have been a bad race for such a lighty modded car. My SS is charged an depending on the gear changing he wins some I win some.

ohhhhh dont worry there are plenty of kenne bell cobras with extra strong venom :)

I'd like to see you run this one Cobra up here where I live. He put down 666Hp(wierd) and 897ft lbs of torque. It would be nice.

666 for a HP number, I would have to change that somehow, maybe dyno it cold or sumthin', and take that number. And a snake too, he might be the :devil: himself.

Oh I know there is always a better car out there....but.....got to remember one thing....a supercharger will run out of air at some point.....a turbo...just keeps on breathing......and......when I put down the 720hp.....I didn't push the motor past 15lbs of boost or really play with the timing......not going to push the motor until I put an engine brace on the bottom end....then I'll show you a 800+rwhp run.........

well....I'm embarrased to say I haven't taken it to the track.......all we have around here are 1/8 mile tracks......I'd like to get my 6-point cage in it before I go......I've got sub-frame connectors and boxed control arms on it but I think if you run a certain time and speed on the track you will have to run a cage in it......

sounds like your in the same boat as me ..i would like to get my car to the track before the season is over but with no cage they will kick me out after the first pass. the track here is an 1/8 also, i think if you run faster than a 7.60 you have to have a cage . I`m hoping for mid 6`s but its been awhile since i have been to the track so its going take some time

I live off of Petrokisky, but have worked in Renton for almost all of this year, my baby sits pretty much all day down on So 3rd at the shop I work for.
Swing in sometime and we can yakk for a moment )

PS Theres a couple of white Zs and an SS I think in the area, mines the one with blacked out windows and JD Halo headlights. USED to have a front license plate frame that said Today's Special...........Smoked Cobra... took that off now tho LoL.
