Hey fellas,
I was running stock tire pressure temp was upper 70's and humid. My mods are air lid, LM2, SFC's and STB. Little disappointed with the times. Oh and I was on goodyear Eagle F1 gs's. These were my first track runs ever with this car. Disect please....
runs in order
60' 1/4 MPH
1) 2.208 13.58 106.6
2)2.40 13.78 106.8
3)2.33 13.67 105.6
4)2.48 13.72 107.3
Little peeved cuz SRT-4's were beatin me and for some reason people said they saw my brake lights flashin. Think I was touchin the brakes in between shifts with the side of my foot. Hey at least she looks pretty!
You should be on low 13s. Practice on getting those 60s down=better ETs.

I was launching at 2g's lightly slipping the clutch. My first run felt like it hooked good just didnt get into it fast enough. I was hoping to get my 60' down to 2.0 then that would at least bring me to 13.3's but my 60's kept gettin worse. Otherwise my shiftin was good. Im workin on the suspension now so hopefully I will get the 60's down. I beat it more than I thought I could..... poor thing
Thanks

In my experience, short of remarkable track prep, you wont get a great 60' unless you have an A4 or gearing. For the 3.42 gearing the 2.2 sec. 60' isn't bad from what i've seen. I've seen people claim they ran 2.0 sec. 60', but then they were probably using nitto dr's and calling them street tires, as they can be used for everyday driving.
Nice times, and your mph seems strong. What is an LM2 mod? I keep reading it, but I dunno what it is.

Get yout 60' down to under 2.0 and your times will drop. Your launch has alot to do with your ET. Your MPH is good though, so you're car is making good power at the top end. Practice your launch, and get some sticky tires and you'll be there. It took me awhile to get my launch down, and I have an A4.

I think since your first run was your best run when you "didn't get into it fast enough". You should see that getting into it faster actually slowed you down.
Your initial impulse on your initial run was correct and you drove accordingly.
Trying to improve your 60' just overpowered your tires and made you go slower. You're not going to see a great improvement on your 60' with those tires. Ever watch a drag race where the loser lost because they "smoked the tires off the line"? That's basically what you are doing (without all the smoke). It's all about traction and getting to the other end in the least amount of time. It's very difficult to resist the urge to just 'floor it', but spinning your tires just wastes time. Don't feel badly, all of us have done it and some of us even continue to do it! :cuss:

The LM2=Loud mouth 2 SLP exhaust.
Thanks for the comments guys. Maybe I shoulda tried lightin up the tires instead of straight stagin runnin through the water pit.

I wouldn't suggest that. Most of the hardcore drag racers don't like for people for street tires to do that, as they drag water down the track. That's just my point of advise though.

That's the reason why you can't hook. Stay off the water pit, drive around it. Spin your tires for a second and your good. From what I've learned also racing on the track, I lowered my back tires to 22-24 psi to get hook off line on street tires. That is up to you though.
