I just dealt with Cleveland Pick a part and did a v6 to LS1 in my 98 firebird. Ask for Rick JR. He can totally help you out.

you may hate non factory V-8's but i loved driving my 6 around, then when the time was right i did my 8v swap, to all his own.

Yea, I guess to each his own. Some people just don't like modding cars...
You may want to check out Trans Am Creations. They have a decently informative site.

it was great doing the swap, i was able to install MAC headers while the engine was out. re rout some lines, ls6 intake. much easier then installed in the car.
Transam creations are a good source aw well, i did get a few parts from americancamaroand firebrd. They were excellent to deal with.

well originally i bought the car just so i could do an LS1 swap. because the 3rd gen body (in my opinion) is the coolest bodystyle of all. and who wouldnt want a more advanced 4th gen engine in such a stylish looking 3rd gen?

if you wan to put a ls1 engine into a 3rd gen body style you will need the whole 4gen wiring harness, engine wiring harness, front body relay harness and the complete interior harness. your best bet is to get a 4th gen doner car you can take the comlete harness out of. then do the engine swap.

i almost forgot the 98 harnesses are different then the 99 -02

you also have to make sure of the options. there is a harness for traction controlled f-bodies and ones that are for non traction control.

well its in a donor car right now and the guy im buying it off of is a friend of mine so im sure that if i just told him that i need all the wiring with the engine i dont think he'd charge me anymore than he is
