Hey guys,
I'm kinda new back to this forum. I had an SS a while back, traded it off, now I have a 2002 C5.... Loving it.

Had a Question about the see thru top. It is kinda crappy; peeling and scratchy and stuff... Are alot of them like that? What can I do to make it look better? Or am I just stuck with it looking like that?

Thanks

A lot are like that, there is a place to send them to have them 'rebult' but is not cheap even with a core.

Yeah, I started looking and it looks like about $550 to get it a new one with my core trade in... Like $800 just for a new one.. Oh well, I'll just deal with it for now...

Tx- Texas. That name just kinda stuck for some reason..

Keep your eye on Ebay, when I had my 97, I bought one off there in excellent shape for $300.

I was lucky enough to have someone want to fix my top and experiment. Well, as you can see by the pics he did. Sand and a clear coat.

its pretty easy to do yourself... just takes some time. sand the top down with 800 and work up to 1500. then clear the whole thing... comes out great... lot cheaper that way also

Good info!

Where in Texas are y'all located? Victoria, Texas here. Me and a few others from another forum are gauging interest in a get together around central Texas for an 'event'. No specifics yet but wondering if anyone would be up for it.
