alright theres this russian at my work right.. he thinks just because something costs more that it is for some reason better.. when he goes thru his list of modifications he first tells me the price of them and then tells me how "sick" they are. supposedly he has a "big ass turbo" and a intercooler. i'd say it's bone stock. it's a automatic but it's got the triptronic so he tells me it's a manual too....... anyway i was wondering has anyone seen these cars run, if so.. does this car stand a chance against my 98 z. he gets his car next week. i told him i'd run him, i don't really get all bent out of shape when i lose or anything just wondering if these cars are as bad as he says.. thanks again Jimmie

One day last year...me and a buddy were coming back from a car show, and we were racing at every light (we even stopped at a green light to have a go lol) anyways... we pull up to this one light and it goes green, and all of a sudden we both hear this little high pitched squeel over both our loud tire ssqueals... my buddy kicks my ass (bolt ons/cam 02 Ws6, me = Stock TA at the time) so i slow down, and so does he. about 2 seconds later this little is300 does a ricer fly-by. i guess he lined up with us at the lights but neither of us saw him.

in other words... if the guy is stock you will kick his ass! they have like 215 HP

im sure the guy is bsing about his big turbo/intercooler, but check it out before you run him

thanks for the info.. do you know if they take well to mods.. i mean lets say he does have a turbo and does have a intercooler.. he claims 350 to the pavement.. if so.. would i have a chance?

well anything can be done... just depends on the setup

there is a turbo is300 running around near me that is pushing 600+ to the wheels, but the way you talk about your buddy it seems like he is a bullshitter. they weigh about 3300lbs and it has that tiptronic shit so depending on your mods i think you would have a good chance if he has 350 hp

only one way to find out though!

dont know much about that car or the 3.0l v6 in it, but sounds a bit unrealistic because to turbo somehting like that would cost a ton and like an ls1, they have high compression so they wouldnt be able to run more than 10 psi. being how they are almsot as heavy as your z28, and i think he has the disadvantage of fwd, i think you have a good shot of taking him even if he is putting down 350 (which i find to be very unrealistic because A.) he's russian. russian people aorund me in brooklyn alll have lexuses and all "put down over 300". B.) a turbo on that engine would be quite a few gs.) either eway there is only one way to find out and even if you loose i dont think it will be by too much... let us know what happens

yeah.. so yesterday i talk to him at work.. he says he can't race because he sold it for 7 thousand over what he paid for it.. told me where he sold it.. big mistake.. i know all the car dealers around here so i called up the dealer and asked if he had bought the car.. said he never even talked to the kid.. to thats the end of that story.. just abunch of bullshit... sorry for the bad ending guys
