How much did you pay for the full setup?? And was it hard to install and how much of a drop was it

Bilstein pkg http://parts.ajusa.com/ajusa/stores/part2.jsp?partner=ajusa&year=2000&make=PN&model=FIRE-FORMULA-003&category=L&partnerSession=f997c74205f4aa5b716c19f643caed26

I paid approx 550.00 for everything
Labor was free, well maybe not completely free I lost some skin on the knuckles...but not to bad to install, my borrowed spring compressor sucked!!!! went to tire shop and paid $20 to remove and install new springs, best $20 i have spent in a while.

Thanks 01RaptorTA, I knew it had to be lowered with 18's, it sat to hi.

How is the ride quality with your set-up? Hows it compare to stock? Would you have gone a different route if you had done it over?

Car looks awesome and has a great stance!!!

It’s definitely a harder ride but not to harsh, the Bilstein springs use a progressive spring which under normal conditions it’s not to bad but once you start leaning on it they stiffin right up. The car tracks MUCH better in the corners and no more pushing. I wouldn’t do anything different except put wider tires on the rear; I didn’t at the time because it was my daily driver and wanted to rotate tires.

Thanks for the compliments,
Marc

What brand tires did you go with? Any rubbing with that combo? Any modifications that you had to make. I am assuming that you have the stock suspension (not lowered). I am considering a set of Chrome TTM's for my WS6 and just want to make sure that rubbing won't be an issue.

I decided to sell my rims and get a set of ruffs, based on how utterly badass those look. I wonder how they'd look in 18s...do you have any type of lowering springs on yours? I have an eibach prokit with 17s, the longtubes scrape as it is. Not sure if i like how big the rim is, but 18 would definitely give me a lift and help clearance. Also, how much did you pay for yours, excluding tires?

i had eibach prokit on it. i paid 1500 shipped with tires. not sure what the price would have been w/o tires, under 1000 im sure.

I ordered 18 x 8 and 18 x 9 combo , they were on back order for 3 months ( still are ) so I got inpatient and had them ship four 18 x 8. 245/40/18 front & 285/35/18 Nitto Drag's on the back. I was worried about killing the traction but it still pulls some 1.6 60ft.

Man, those are hot! I'm really liking those wheels for my Formula.

How wide is the lip on the 18x8? I was thinking of going 18x9 all the way around, but I actually like the look of the 8's. Yours is the 1st car I've seen with the 8's all the way around, I like it! The wider tire fit fine on the back?

And do you have any more pics, maybe close ups and one from the back?

Oh, and any idea what the wheels weigh?

Thanks!

How do you like the Hankooks?

Spikito
01-16-2008, 11:12 PM
So far theyve been great, my old ones were some dry-rot arizonians, its what was on the car when i got it, no traction, i could get sideways all over the place, with a V6. These are about an inch and half wider, but they look a lot wider than that, theyre also a lower profile, which im assuming stiffens up the sidewall. But these things stick like glue, i was pulling onto a slick wet road tonight, turning, and could just break them loose. Theres a noticeable amount of road noise, probably from increased width, but its not enough to bother me, and the ride is really smooth, train tracks and potholes are still a bitch though.

I'm thinking about getting TTMs for my Black 00 T/A. Caught between the TTIIs and the TTMs.

Thoughts? Pics of TTMs on black T/As?

Thanks,

They were $124.00 each on Clearance at the TR.

Where and what is TR? What brand of wheels?

SS Goblin, I will guess that you are in the Air Force and by the looks of it, that is the Chesapeake bay. Langley AFB?

You guys are going to have to help me decide. I'm stuck on the fence over the Torque Thrust IIs and the Torque Thrust Ms.

Which one would look better on my car?

Word of advice...think about how much tires are going to cost on 12" wide wheels...

BIG GUNS

11 inch rims and they are about 120 per tire for the 278/40/17s/ Not bad

275 will not fit in an 11" wide rim... You'd need 305 atleast.

When I was in the ARMY at Fort Sam Houston for training all of the desk I sat at had "FTA" carved into the desk tops . Wonder what that stood for ? :dunno:

Might fit...but sure isn't recommended.

The amount of lip on that wheel with a 275 tire would be rediculous and look horrible. I have a thin 315 on my 17x11 TTII's and there is still a bit of lip.
