How much of a shot?

I prefer a wet shot.

big shot = wet
small shot = dry

wet is probably safer regardless

Then I would do a wet shot. You're going to want more. ;)

thanks for the help... just wanted to check because like i said i heard you needed a more modded engine to run wet... and i was wondering what all i would need to do when i install it..what kind of tuning? i know i need to change the sparks and wires.. i was going to go with the tr6's and what wires do you suggest?

If you won't be going past a 125 shot a dry kit is pretty hard to beat. If down the road you might start doing some mods (headers, cam and so on) I would suggest the wet kit over they dry, as your fuel injectors won't limit the size of the shot you want to run.

guess i should stop hitting my stock motor with two stages of wet kit then. a 75 and a 150. and i mean stock motor from TB to exhaust manifolds. including fuel system.

Like many have said it comes to what you may want to do further on. I have a dry kit on a moderatly modded motor and think it does more than enough and the simplicity is one great thing with dry kits. On that note though they are basically as is once they are in. You can go to a bigger jet but 125 is about the max. The wet kits are slightly more difficult to put in but are truely a better set up and can give you higher gains. The wet also is better for making sure you don't lean out your fuel.

As far as tuning on a motor without a bunch of mods you should be OK if you stay under a 150 shot but you should get your air / fuel checked to see if when you hit the shot it does not lean out your fuel to much and cuase detonation. Just my two cents.

Just get the dry kit, run a 100 shot, and be happy with it. You only need a wet kit when your running more 02 though the engine than your fuel pump, and injectors can keep up with. But at that point, it would be time to upgrade to a few forged internals. BUT that's just my 2 cents.

you could run a 250 dry shot of nitrous if your fuel pump, injectors and could keep the ls1's thirst quinched. not to mention keeping the pistons from breaking.
