I am new to drag racing and I have a question regarding your r/t. I have a 98 six speed z28 now, but before I had a 99 six speed. I ran it in the 1/8th with the only mod being a airlid and filter. My time was:

r/t: .968
60ft: 2.192
330ft: 5.821
1/8th: 8.764
mph: 83.19

My question is does your reaction time affect you et? The quy in the other lane had a .621 reaction time. If so then if I would have had a .768 r/t would I have ran a 8.564?
I am getting ready to run my new car for the first time and was just wondering how that works.:dunno: :dunno:

Reaction time does not affect ET's.

It will affect who will crosses the finish line first.

Elapsed time is the amount of time from start to finish.
Reaction time is the amount of time from green to start.
You can have a quicker RT and beat a car with a quicker ET for the 'hole shot win'. Same as leaving from a traffic light first.
In drag racing it's quicker, not faster.

reaction time is the point when you break the timer beam before/after it's time to leave. has zero to do with your ET. you could sit there for a minute and your ET doesn't start until you break out of the staging beam.
