small block is a small block is a small block bolting to the motor is no big deal its how long the trany is to the old one you may have to move crossmembers what did the truck come with stock?

tranny length is no big issue. i'm doing a ground up build, taking an old rover ute, stripping it back to bare chassis. LS2, TH400, nissan transfer case and probably nissan diffs. coil over springs and shocks... i'll be fabricating all mounts, crossmembers, suspension myself. i was just unsure if the ls2 would bolt up to the TH400. so 86transam383, you're saying that it will just bolt up.. thanks

i'm not sure about the usa, but we (australia)have a Nissan Patrol. it is a quite heavy 4x4. the diffs have a massive center(about 9.5" ring gear) and the transfer case is monsterous. the front diff is comparable to a stock Dana 60. i plan to keep the car light, so about 1800kg. if this diff does give up, the next strongest thing would be a specially built dana 60 with all the aftermarket bits from the usa.

if its comparable to a dana 60 use it thats good stuff. best of luck to you man
