Fellas, I spent over 1000 bones on a Z06 brake system for my 99 Z, and one of the front rotors has already cracked after less than a month of somewhat hard usage. The system consisted of red Z06 F/R calipers, ACDelco high performance Corvette pads all around, and ACDelco 13" drilled/slotted Durastop performance front rotors. Also, I installed the SS brake lines all around.

I was enjoying these brakes, I thought it was the best mod EVER. I could wait until I was a few car lengths from a stop light going 60 and that b*tch would stop with a couple feet to spare, brake dust wasn't a problem, and they never squealed. I hit the brakes one time hard with one of my boy's in the car, and no lie, he came up out of the seat and almost did a faceplant on the front windshield.

After a good, hard, complete stop from 140, I started noticing there was pulsation in the brakes. I thought that maybe the a pad had chunked of some material, because I spun the wheel, and the front rotors were straight and true. I drove it for a little while longer, and it got WORSE. I checked and rechecked the calipers for any play. Then, when I got home from work one day, I took another look at it, and damn sure enough, there was a crack running right through one of the slots on the front right rotor.:ripped: GOTDAMMIT

Needless to say, I had to order some BREMBO drilled front rotors the day before yesterday. Another 300 plus BONES thrown up a wild hogs ass.

:hifinger: ACDELCO

Drilled rotors are known to crack...that's why at most you should get dimpled and slotted....or just slotted. It's not any brands fault...when you drill a lot of holes in a rotor it's going to weaken somewhat.
