May be a dumb question, but I need a little info on ram air hoods.
What makes a ram air hood functional? I've seen the aftermarket hoods advertised as functional or non functional. I'm just a little confused since for one I have not purchased my t/a yet. I'm doing a little research before I puchase exactly what I want.

Thanks

When a hood indicates functional it means that the hood front openings will allows fresh air to flow into the openings of the hood and feed cold air into air box to the intake.
Non functional hood do not have these holes in the hood for the air to be directed into the air box, air is had by the surroundings of the front opening of the air box so it see under hood air which is hotter=<H.P.
Earlier hood designs incorporated a cable/solenoid to open the air path through the hood via a plate to the intake.

Thanks for your help

I was considering a SLP Flowpac with a SunCoast Raptor hood.
Would this be a good idea for increasing horsepower, or would it be a waste of money?
