emblem painting

I have a black z28 and my emblems are obviously black as well. so my question is would it look bad if i painted them white. I would be using a high quality gloss brite white. but , would it look bad if the whole emblem was white or should I mask off the little grooves that are in the emblem. Am i making my question clear? I only ask because i have seen some vinyl kits that actually are cut out for where the grooves in the emblem are.

If you could tape it off it would look even better, but it wouldn't look bad the other way.

i painted my front pontiac arrow navy blue metallic and it looked like it came from the factory like that... also painted my white car's ws6 the same way and it looked OEM too
