I have a g5x3 cam kit headers lid exhaust, m6...

Can I reliably run a 100 shot at the track(3-4times a year) on the stock bottom end if i use a window switch..

You can run a 125 dry shot stock. Dont use more than that though. I do not use a window switch but if you have a manual then you will probably benefit from one.

I highly recommend all of the safety accessories like a fuel pressure safety switch, window switch, bottle heater, purge, blow down, etc etc. Also make sure your fuel systems is up to par and you have a good tune. Your stock bottom end will be fine.

ok that is a good size cam.....Consult one of the members who have a cam of a similar profile. I have heard that it shouldnt be a problem, but I do not know for sure. Ask mrr23 he is pretty knowledgable about these things.

That cam likes nitrous, you won't have any problems with it. Look into doing a fuel pump if you are going to spray it and if you go with a dry kit you'll also need injectors.

pretty much what matt just said. going with a wet kit will cost you less because you won't need to buy injectors and have the PCM reprogrammed for them. which reminds me, you'll most likely need to have some timing pulled seeing as you have a cam in it and most likely tuned.

injectors? Mine are stock. What is wrong with the stock injectors? THe NOS #5177 dry kit is supposed to be bolt on and go all stock????

Its a bolt on kit as long as you dont have anything more than bolt-ons (depending on the size of the shot). Ive seen a lot of people come close or max out their injectors with just a cam. I dont know about you, but if I were running a fairly big cam and a dry shot I would be nervous about my injectors duty cycle. Especially with the 26lbers. The last thing you want with a dry kit is an insufficient fuel system.

My suggestion....put the car on a dyno and see where you're at. Playing the guessing game isnt going to get anyone too far.

Oh no doubt! I dont have a cam though I am basically stock for now but am planning on putting a 220/224 cam in pretty soon. Any ideas>>>???Advice?

For now you're probably just fine. Put the cam in and see where you're at. I dont think a cam of that size will max your injectors out but I'm sure it will be close with the nitrous. A good rule of the thumb is to never let your injectors go over an 80% duty cycle. You can, but a lot of people will advise against it when running a cam and nitrous car.

I would probably go with the 42lb injectors. A lot of room to grow, cheap, pretty easy to tune and I highly doubt you'll ever max them out unless you go with forced induction.

Is that a pretty nice cam? Its a comp cam thats designed for the LS1. What is the biggest you havce seen go in one w/o bottom end work?
