I was pulling onto I80 yesterday afternoon when I see a Yellow Daytona. I decided to pull up next to take a closer look. The guy looked to be my age so I figured he might want to play. We exchanged nods and "Nice car" comments. I down shifted th 3rd and blipped the throttle to see if he wanted to play, and he did. I didn't get a good look at the speedo but I think we were running 60. I let him hit it then I jumped on it. We started out pretty much dead even but by the top of 3rd (roughtly 100) I had a good car length on him. I wish we would have slowed to 50 so I could have started in 2nd, I might have done better. I had to slow for traffic so he pulled along side and we exchanged thumbs up. He ended up getting off at the next exit so we didn't get to run again.

I was pretty happy that my lowly 281 could run with the Hemi. A lot of people don't care for the Charger but I like them. It looked cool (flat black on yellow) and sounded nice. I have two kids and I miss the 4 doors.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. :wall:

Yeah, those Chargers are fatties. But they got a nice lookin' face. Still a fattie though.

They need to make the challenger, they make a 2 door at an even descent weight and slap the 6.1 Hemi in it and my TA won't be the only fast car in my garage. Give me mine in BRIGHT orange.

I would do mine up to look just like the General Lee. But with a longtubed, catless exhaust from Borla, right off the bat. I bet that thing would sound sweet. Anybody heard one of those Hemi cars with a full exhaust.

my nextdoor neighbor has the same car as you , color and tranny, i think his is an 06 tho, we gotta race sometime

Good race. The R/T and Daytona guys are always looking for or wondering about a race vs. a stock GT on the Charger forums.
