View Full Version : Cant get my LT's

Well i cant get my headers becasue the cops gave me a warning for being to dam loud with just the catback. I guess ill have to work on the engine/intake next. I was thinking about going back to the LS6 intake, 80mm TB, MAF, and a few other things. I might put my gears back on as well. Think im doing the right thing?? The only thing thats holding the car back are the stock headers.

That might have something to do with it. You can install a borla muffler in place of the resonator. Borlamouth.

get rid of the loudmouth and get a hooker exhaust. then slap on headers.

Why the hell is the loudmouth so damn loud. I mean i know theres a resonator instead of a muffler, but i didnt know it would be this loud.

It's the resonator. I bought a loudmouth system a few years ago and couldn't believe how loud it was. I sold it a couple of weeks later to a friend. Longtubes and a borlamouth sound great. check out http://ls1sounds.com/

Wow Loudmouth is too loud with stock headers? where are you from? Everyone here has at least Loudmouth and headers or a cutout. Hell I got LTs and X-pipe into resonators turned down. And a Head and Cam package. Only got a ticket in Louisiana for modified exhaust while I was on leave for a week. But yeah try LTs with either Borla, or even stock exhaust, and put an electric cutout for when you want to open her up (when the police aren't around of course.)

You could try the LM2 pipe. I have it and dont think its that loud. Sounds louder in the car.

LOL. Best word of advice, listen to other peoples exhaust first, and talk to them. Find out the advantages vs the disadvantages. Then decide what you think sounds better and/or your wallet can handle. :true:

Get headers. You only got a warning. I been runnin Mac headers, no cats, and an open Borla for years. Just stay off the gas when the cops around.
