anybody used this rear end yet? does it have the weight of the 9-inch and as much drag as the 9-inch. i have heard so many stories of the 9-inch slowing down cars a few tenths. just needing some advise and opinions of which rear end is the better choice(s60, 9-inch, 12 bolt). it will be going in a 1992 camaro, not a daily driver but is always driven to the track. it still has the original 10 bolt that has had many 1.50's 60ft times without any problems, but i'm always wondering when its gonna break. i've been lucky, but i'm ready for the upgrade. thanks for all the input.

surely someone has used the dana rear end. i would like to know the difference in times if any of these rear ends slowed down your car. mine runs 6.90's at 100 mph in the 1/8 mile now with the 10 bolt

I know the 60 rear end is being well received by many people. I wish it would've been an option when I went with my 9". The main points I've seen... Ease of install of a 12-bolt, but same/more strength than a 9". I don't know how true this is, it's just what I've seen in a few threads.
As far as your stock rear end goes...well if you want a boost of confidence check out this guy. :yup: 10 second car on stock rear (http://nitrousfedmuscle.com/). Well, it's got stronger axles and the girdle and stud kit.

Weighs more than a 9 inch from what I understand. For an auto I'd use a 12 bolt.

I would steer clear of strange engineering products.I have a 4,300 12 bolt in my car .It has been rebuilt 2 times already.

I would go with moser 9 inch. With the s60 you need a new driveshaft( a shorter one).Unless you can get the s60 unassembled and get some local who know how to set it up,I would not let strange set it up.It's pretty sad I spent 2,300 for a bolt and it leaked & howled from strange. They paid the fist rebuild. The second one I paid for. After parts labor and tow charges it was 1,980 bucks.

:yup: Here's the only draw back: you've already heard about strange, but for moser, the torque arm uses 4 bolts (two on top and two on bottom) a lot of people dont like that because of the risk of the bottom bolts backing out. I went 9" because it can take the shock that comes from launching a m6 at 5-5k...not to say a 12 bolt cant because i know someone who put 700+ hp and tq to a moser 12bolt

Go with a moser 9 inch. The tq arm bolts go from top to bottom like a stock set up.

I was actually told you get a little slower in the 1/4,even with the s60.
