Car full of Guys

I went to the gym today with my buddy and his brother. On the way home, a honda civic 04 or so rev'd at me with his 4" muffler tips. Upon arriving at the Stop light, he had a girl in the passengers seat, so I rev'd and he did it back.

The light hit red, And we both floored it. I took him off the leed, and let up at 40, put it in second, and you could hear his spool. Just as he started to pass, I floored it again and kept letting off letting him think he had his chances.

As we pulled away cause he gave, my buddy said "Nate! He just threw some rice at you!"
I responded, "What?! Are you serious?! What about my paint!"

I felt dumb.

the same thing happened to me with 2 of my 1st races when i first purchased my car back in 2002.

race 1 - VM Golf. Raced to 90, let up, he kept going, then raced to 115 and let up - kept on going - only had car 2 days and had 250 on the Odometer so i didnt want to keep going

race 2 - Supra. raced to 115 let up, he kept going, went WOT again to 130 , let up and he kept going, then went WOT again to 140 trying to catch up, caught up at 140 and let up and he still kept going, but road was about to run out a 1/2 mile ahead!!:thinkin:
