Hi everyone, is buying a high mileage Corvette a problem? Specificially the C5. Since most of the body and stuff is made of fiberglass, I was wondering if the body and frame are any less structurally strong than any other car/truck/suv and if it was subject to any deformity from aging. But, the C5 is body on frame, right? This is a good thing. Also, all of the high mileage C5s I have seen look like new, these cars seem to wear extremely well.

So, do the body and frame live any less life than any other car/truck/suv, or is it one of those cars that you can keep and drive forever and endless miles?

Also, do these C5s have any kind of rust problems? Looks like GM took good care of the design..

TIA!

the C5 is a miricle blend of aluminum and composite materials. There is a link on one of the vette sites to a "naked vette", a C5 without the body. If you can find it, you will see that you have no concerns with how the C5 is built. The body isn't fiberglass anymore either, it's more like a flexible version of fiberglass. Chuck.
