My car got backed into by a Expedition. The trailer hitch wen through the middle of the tail light assembly the hatch was moved some and the rear bumper was scratched. My question is that some people have told me its hard to match silver paint. If the Metal flake is slightly different finish wont match even if the color is dead on. Some say you need to paint almost half the car to get it blended right. And that will only show up in the right light. So is this true and what should I look for when I pick it up as they are only painting the bumper?

if you take your car to a reputable painter they will look out for you. A good body shop wants to put out a good product and not half ass anything. :shots: good luck

Nah, mine has been re-painted on some panels. The flake is no where near a match, but the simple fact is that as long as you wet sand and polish the clear coat to make it nice and shiney... nobody will ever notice.
