My buddy just picked up an ss and i went out cruisin with him. his is an A4 and mines an M6. He mashed the throttle down and took off on me so i downshifted and got on it, i was about two cars behind and i caught up to him in third, hit 4th and i was gone he couldnt keep up. thats the first race ive ever done aginst an ss and i was surprised how well i did against it.

a4 gear ratio sucks from a roll b/c it'll give up faster [once they're out of 3rd, it's just Over Drive] You're m6 has some sexier ratios and you can really hammer it out. Plus his computer is prolly stock still and shifting earlier.

way to take the wind out of my sails but it still felt great last night to pull on an SS like that. anyway as a followup i raced my other buddies 2000 Z28 A4 and it APPEARS to be bone stock. he just bought it and he doesnt know whats done to it but he says hes running the RPM all the way to like 6,500 and im shifting at 6000. i missed 2nd gear and he got me by less than a car. does the stock rev limiter hit at 6000 or 6500?
