So this is it I'm changing my auto setup in the monte carlo to the t56. I have most all of the parts as well as i bought a computer for a 99 six speed car. The current harness i have right now is from painless performance and you can use it with a 6 speed or 4L60E as long as the computer service number is 16238212. I bought the computer believing it was that but when it got to my door I found out it wasnt. So I guess can I get the new (99) computer reprog. to match that service number? or should I go computer hunting again, I dont really want to if i can get this one reprogrammed but I'm not sure if that can be done to match service numbers?

Also a side note the t56 is used of course and is from a 98 car What major updates should i look into changing or updating before this goes in the car?

thanks for your :help: !

I would say there was a reason the computer had to match those numbers so I would say get a different one that is within the stated range. Reprogramming it with new numbers would be like saying if I deliver this envelope to the wrong house if I just paint the right address over the wrong one it will make everything fine.? Be safe and get what it is supposed to work with.
