assuming that i change the pushrods which like to bend at 6250 RPM, how many rpm can i turn on a stock lower engine. i will be redoing my valvetrain and would like to redline at 7000 RPM without anything breaking. just want to know if the crank, bearings, pistons, ect can handle that rpm. Or if you know where to get the specs that would be great too. thanks guys

Won't be worth spinning it over 6200 on the stock cam.

i didnt plan on using the stock cam. im probably going to go with comp cams with a custom grind that has an operating range that reaches 7000 RPM. sorry, i wasnt very specific. i ment i was doing a complete upper half engine rebuild. just wanting to know if the lower end could handle it. thanks again

6700-6800 on the stock bottom end shouldn't be a problem.

I was kind of curious myself what the bottom end could rev to but on the other hand it would be hard to have a top end good enough to make HP @ 7,000rpm.

that is true, but when they list the specs ont the cam, they list an "operating range". in not sure, but doesnt this mean that the engine will still be producing power in that range? the cam im looking into has an operating range of 2000-7000 RPM, thats why im asking. thanks again

My cam is rated from 2200 to 6600.
Still makes plenty of HP at 6600.
But I probably won't be using that section of the powerband all that much. I will know more Wed. at the track...but thinking shifting around 6100-6200 is gonna be my sweet spot.

Revving isn't always needed to make power.
