00 camaro z-28 4l60E tranny upgrades?!!?

:dunno: Hey guys I own a 2000 chevy camaro z-28. About 2 weeks ago the tranny gave out and I need to replace it. I was wondering if anyone had any Ideas as to maybe a better automatic tranny to put in or maybe a type of shift kit to get the most out of the automatic tranny. Any help and suggestions would be great!! thanks

I don't know much but just had my go out and beefed it up a bit. My trans guy suggested a few major upgrades. 1) Go from the 4-ring to a 5-ring rear planetery gear. You can also get some other part welded to keep it from breaking. 2) Replace the reaction shell "sunshell" with "The Beast" reaction shell. 3) Do what you can to boost line pressure using a quality shift kit like the transgo SK4L40EL kit. I have seen the difference in quality and "beefyness" of these parts. I am sure other on here have better advice than I but I am happy with my rebuilt confident It won't be breaking anytime soon.
