hey everyone,
I'm about to swap my stock cam in my 2001 WS.6 to a comp .581. I bought new comp beehive valve springs but I am getting told two different things about the lifters. Some say they won't show any wear and will be fine to leave in and others say they will have worn to the stock cam settings and will need to be changed for sure.:dunno: I am in the dark here and was wondering if someone could shed some light. Thanks for your help.

in the old days of the flat tappet lifters, you have to change the lifters as they wear into the cam. with roller cams, like the one in the LS1, you do not need to swap the lifters. they can be used over and over. this is so long as there is no wear on the rollers. which there is very little chance of that happening. so, swap away.

from most all reasearch I've done, you'll be fine with leaving the stock ones in there. That's what I've gotten out of the searches, and even on ls1howto they don't say really anything about changing lifters.

If anyone has other reason let me know, I'll be putting my cam in next week finally. :)
