Went to Highschool drag day at Maple Grove This past sunday and was disappointed. My best run was
1/4 - 13.57
MPH - 106
R/T - .26
All the other runs were about the same. I was running N/A as this was the first time I tracked the car and didnt want to spray so i could get a baseline. With this time I was in the top 10 out of 300 cars. Although after reading around It seems this was a slow time. I had a great launch and chirped every shift (didn't believe it till I saw the vid). Am I running ok times with the small mods ive got. Remeber this was running N/A no N2O.
Any guesses on what ill run with a 125 wet shot through a TB plate(hits much harder than a nozzle).

Those times are not to bad, but what is your 60' time. Your mph should be good for a 13.2-13.3 at least.

Im actually at school at the moment.... thats from memory im gonna post up a pic of the timeslip tonight when i get home.
Oh and fastest car at the track was a older mazda RX7???? WTF it was in the 11's
This is at a highschool student only on street tires only (no DOT DR's) competition.

You did good. You have to be a VERY good driver to be in the 12's with regular all season tires. When I go on my street tires I usually run 13.1 @ 109-110 mph cutting 2.2 short times.

Thats not bad at all man. Just looks like you need some seat time. Your not gana jump into a car like this and click off some bests the first night out.

Thanks for the support. Im heading back the next two weeks in a row. I've never had so much fun, im completely addicted to the whole track experience. I cant wait to see what I run while spraying. Well AFTER I get a new clutch. Mine slips only when I spray.

Looks like the new 3 valve Mustangs have the stock LS1 beat. My 06 ran a 13.42 @ 101.80 mph. I did have an ASP underdrive pulley but other wise stock.
Better watch out for those new stangs!

the new stangs are killer out of the hole when properly driven!!

the new stangs are killer out of the hole when properly driven!!Not sure I would call my stang's 60' a killer but it was a 2.011. With a loose converter and traction it might be considered killer for a stock engine in a car that weighs 3620#.

Sounds like you did very good, especially with street tires. Chirping the tires will actually cost you a bit of time. Get some drag radials and that time will definitely go down. I loved it when I got mine, I used to chirp them all the time with street tires, but when I put the drag radials on and she hooked on my 1-2 shift it really helped my time.

My car ran with a Lid 13.54 @ around 106, so is a normal time for the F bodies. Now I am running 12.6's @ 106 with a 1.695 60 foot n/a.

that's not too bad, seems about right for these cars. I took my 2000 SS 6spd a few weeks ago and only managed a 13.65 @ 106.3 with a 2.3 60'
In the early stages, I just look at the trap speed to see if the car actually has the power it should then I start tweaking it with different mods (tires, suspension, weight, etc) to get the short times down.
Seat time, seat time, seat time is the best tool/mod.

That's comedy. They run 14's over here. There are a few Mustange owners that don't know how to drive. Mine ran a 13.42! Maybe this ASP pulley gave it over .6 improvement because that's all that was done to it.

no pulley set up i know of drops any 1/4 mile et by .6 seconds. pulley set ups are about $150-200. that would mean more HP and TQ gains than from headers and ory. if that were the case, who would spend $500+ for headers, etc for a .3 second faster time when you could supposedly spend a fraction of that and gain twice as much?! im calling BS on the .6 second pulley gain claim... :denied: :ughlaugh: :hellno:

Something else is involved here! Whether it be driver, weather, tranny or weight of cars difference something made theirs run in the 14s if mine will run a 13.42.

You must've gone to one of those downhill tracks.
