On the way home from the Suby meet tonight I ran into a Trans AM. Since my recent encounter with an Camaro SS, I have wanted another F-Body to race me. Well, tonight was my night...
Total of 3 races and the outcomes are exactly what I expected...
1st race:
Again I was caught off guard, I thought he had no intentions of racing until he took off. So, again I started in 4th and sat right at his rear quarter panel.
2nd race:
This time, I knew he wanted to go, so I down shifted to third. We paced for a bit, then both took off. I instantly picked up a car length and kept gaining until the end of third, when I had about 1.5-2 car lengths, put it into fourth and kept pulling.
3rd race:
We pulled over after the 2nd race and he told me he had minor bolt ons and a stall converter. We agreed to one more run, to see who would win. Best of 3! Anyway, we were pacing agian with me in 3rd, when the road opened up to a straight away, we both smashed our gas pedals. I pulled hard in third and easily had 2 cars by the end of the gear. I put it into fourth and pulled a bit more, but let off, since to me the race was over.
At the next light we both went our seperate ways and he was very impressed with my car. It's good to me non-ignorant domestic owners from time to time. Same goes for the honduh bois! I hate running into a ignorant car own period, but lately it seems like that is all that is out there.
**Disclaimer** All of this was computer generated. Street Racing is VERY VERY bad and should not be tried at home. Have a nice night! :drivin:

I would love a race...
I have been searching for a manual Vette or a Z06, I'd just like to see how I compare to them...

What are you running in the 1/4? I too have minor bolt ons, and a stall, and am running high 12's. What exactly were his mods? Just curious....

He never told me exactly what he had done. I gave him my number cause I had to run and we are gunna meet up at the track sometime. All he said was minor bolt ons and a stall.
As for my car, with a shitty launch I'll run a 13.2ish and with a good launch, I break into the 12s. I'm far from stock and getting further every day. I still need to get tuned, which will pick up much more power.

I've got 4.10's, CF Airlid, 3" Catback, and a Pro 5.0 on the way. I've also got Goodyear Eagle F1 tires on 17" wheels, which hook up real nice.

What are 4.10's? I'm assuming that it has to do with gearing? Also what is a Pro 5.0, I'm still new to your car.

By any chance, are you hitting E-Town tonight? Try and swing by if not, as they'll be at least fifty to seventy five STI/EVO's representing. The more F-Body's, the merrier... :D

All the races I've seen on the sti vs z06, sti gets the lead on the launch, by the 1/8th, the z06 goes flying by. Are the sti's that good from a roll? I've heard (and seen) that from a roll that the ls1 will get the sti.:thinkin:

Stock STi sucks from a roll. However, after turbo work, or a new turbo, they can be pretty good from a roll.

Sorry, I couldn't make it tonight. I'm still finishing up the semester at college, finals suck
I'll see if I can get some guys together over the summer and we'll take a ride down though. Sounds like a good time :burnout:

Yep, 4.10 gears allow the car to accelerate faster since the ratios are shorter. Same reason the STI/Evo use short, close ratio gearing to help acceleration.
Pro 5.0 is an aftermarket shifter, basically a shorter throw and more accurate pattern. Lots of guys have trouble with the 2-3 shift with the stock unit, the Pro 5.0 fixes that issue completely.

V8This u stock or modded?
I ran into some prick in my school with a STi not too long ago and pretty much won (i had to go on the other side of the road for a while, a car came and he wouldnt let me merge ahead so i had to brake then get behind him). When my car reacted to the gas, his rear fender was aligned to my front. When I braked, my rear fender was aligned with his front fender. It was I'm guessing from 30 to 90 MPH. Oh yea him=stick me=auto...maybe he just didnt know how to drive :-D

Hmm, sounds interesting. I don't think it would be a complete blow out, but I do think it would make for one hell of a race. I'd take you up, but you are a distance away...

That sti sound like a wanna be. I believe if he had 550hp it wouldn't have even been a race.
