you have to change the springs.
you can have stock heads and a huge cam. how much power you looking to make?
you an a4 or m6?

is this the old nhra i know? from like a year or so ago?
i'm looking to make as much as i can with out replaceing the heads... i know i have to do the springs *grumble*
i have a m6... i'm looking for something that isn't gona kill my every day driveability but something that is nice and lopey with a all around curve...
oh yeah... and this is a ls6 swap in my t/a... NOT the ls6 upgrade for a ls1...
don't know if that makes any difference at all...
and is post any website with the cam so i can order it! :D

you can go bigger than above. a 228 is a good everyday driver cam that makes good power.

The LS6 already has springs that are good to .550 lift. If you go with the .228 / 112 LSA you will have reprogramming issues. The problem with the stock LS6 cam you have is its LSA is to wide. This broad LSA limits overlap, but flattens the powerband and actually limits power output.
For a street application I would stick with at least a 114 degree LSA, and limit intake duration to 218 with a maximum of 224 on exhaust. The intake centerline should be 110. This cam will pull max HP somewhere around 5200 to 5600 rpm. You will shortening the power curve, but will be harder hitting. If you want it to run in the higher rpm range. Change the intake centerline to 114 and stand it straight up!
This will give you some lope without ruining its daily driver appeal. However, I would consider some reprogamming to maximize this vacuum curve change.

If you have an LS6 engine you can use the GM Hot Cam. This kit comes with and uses LS6 springs which you already have. I've heard this cam myself and it has a good lope. (112lsa)
