I finally became that dumb kid I've always hated. With a car too powerful for his own good, and a mind too stupid for everyone else's.

I took my pride and joy, a beautifully preserved low mileage 93 firebird formula, off a mountain road and into a rock.

After spending a month sobbing over it, I think I should do something about the wreckage in my back yard.

Most of the fourth-gen junkers are wrecks rather than ones with mechanical problems (i'm not the only dumbass i guess). So my question is, would one be able to swap a fourth gen drivetrain into a third gen F-body? and how difficult would it be (how much fabrication?)

Or do you think i should just sell it? it looks like i can fetch about 2k Canadian (about 1800 USD) for the whole thing. Which I for some reason rather not, as I don't really NEED the monty, but won't hurt to use it for tuition.

Yes you can do the swap. Its done so often they sell kits to do it. check out thirdgen.org and fbodymotorsports for more info

Yeah I totally would when the right offer comes!

I personally think I'm expecting a little much, but if I can only get 2k CDN (1800USD?) for it, which is the best offer I've gotten so far. I wouldn't even bother. My mind just can't get over the fact that I paid 8K CDN for it.

No insurance? How bad is it wrecked? Has an auto body shop looked at it? Must be fixable or you woldn't get any money for it. This is how you need to evaluate a wrecked car. And yeah,you're not the only one to ever wreck a nice car,just learn from that and move on.

No I never took it to a body shop to get them to look at it. But the the chassis is bent up (a lot too) between the bumper and the passenger door, so i'm sure it's not fixable (also according to the tow truck driver and the cop that gave me the ticket for crashing the car, it's unrepairable)

The 2000 dollars is for the engine and trans, offered by this guy trying to do a engine swap for a Nova. Lt1s and T56s are sort of a rare find in Vancouver apprently (comparing to the states anyways).

And yeah, I do realize I'm not the first one to crash a nice car, but that doesn't really make it alright. But I certainly hope I learned something from it.
