Whats a GTP?

GTP = Fastest Pontiac GrandAm

They have 3 models...Regular (Unleaded), GT (Premium), GTP (Super)

I would check to see if "MagnaFlow" or "Borla" makes a system for a GTP.

Go with a borla cat back. My brother had a 98 GTP with a borla and it sounds amazing, it sounds like a lear jet when it passes you. He also dropped 3 tenths off his 1/4 mile with the borla cat back.

GMPP and SLP both make awsome sounding exhaust. I love the SLP i have on my GSX. Also the GTP is a grand prix not a grand am. Check out some of the 3800 performance parts companies, they all sell them.

I used to have a Grand Am GT, They are Pontiac W-Bodies this site had good stuff.
http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PFYC&Category_Code=GP Theres lots of sites with aftermarket parts for W-bodies. PFYC has both corsa and borla cat-backs for the Grand Prix.

http://www.bmrfabrication.com/ has an entire section devoted to W-bodies.

Actually a GTP is a GrandAm & Prix, and now they make a Pontiac G6 GTP...

Probably the only reason MikeSomething thinks their is a Grand Am GTP is that they replaced the Gand Am with the G-6 and added a GTP option on it. As for the body styles, the Grand Prix and the Grand Am have different body styles. The Grix is a "W" body and the Am is an "N" body platform.
As for the original topic,"the exhaust." It all depends what type of sound you are looking for and guarantee. I have found it is best to stay with 309 stainless steel. If you like the deep throaty sound of the V-8, try the SLP Loudmouth exhaust w/the 3 1/2" slash tips or the trapezoidal tips. The dual/dual seems to give off a higher pitch sound, similar to a rice burner but a little lower in tone when splitting the exhaust at the tips. Try and not go any lower then a 2 1/2" pipe and look for a set with minimal bends in the "Y" pipe for better flow. I have seen some with almost 90 degree bends right before the mufflers.
For the money and quality, I would and am going for the SLP 309 stainless steel Pro Flow or the Loud Mouth exhaust. I love the looks of the Corsa (OEM) style and the Borla systems but are a bit pricey for when you can get the same guarantee with the SLP stainless Steels. The "Y" bends are better on the Borla's, less restrictive. The Borla's will have a deeper sound if you go with the wider round slash tips (3 1/2" to 4",) if you are going for the high price ones.

My buddy has straight 2.5 in no cats or mufflers with a glasspac on it(he added this to make teh whine more noticable) But the borla kit sounds awesome but $$$$$$$

check out milzymotorsports.com sometime. he's real big on the grand am gt fourms. He specializes in 3X00 engines, not sure about exhaust.
