Hi guys,

Well I'm in Cali with my 2001 Trans Am and all I have done so far is a predator tune, Lid, Cold Air and Cat Back. I have a 6 spd and I'm really tired of only having my power between 4000 and 5500 rpm. I'm trying to think of some smog safe mods I can do to get the power band down a bit and or increase horsepower without going crazy with a supercharger or turbo. I was thinking Pulleys and maybe 3.73s. I've heard mixed reviews about going with 4.10s because of blowing the rear. Any suggestions would be great!

Well Hello, Brother,

I have the mods you have plus, the SLP pulley, SLP light flywheel, which has a similar effect on the engine, makes it rev quicker. I went to 3.73's first. It was good, but then I hurt them so I went to 4.10's with a TA girdle and stud kit. 4.10's are the best that you can do for your car even if you do blow them up. The last and only time I ran my car it had the 3.73's, I turned a 13.25 et 106 mph. Also a 4.6 second 0-60 measured with a G-tech. I haven't run it with the 4.10's but it pulls harder in all gears.

If your an M6 I'd def. do 4.10 gears. If your an auto, try 3.73s and a 3500 stall.

Great thanks for the feedback. I did opt for the aluminum flywheel when I got my SPEC clutch kit. So am I right at an estimate of about 500 bucks for the gears?
