LS1 had heads/cam/150 shot. GT was stock. It SHOULD have pulled that GT with those mods..

I wouldn't be pissed, having a car like the GT is about more than just straight line racing. There will always be someone who has more hp than you. I've seen the GT in person at Nurburgring, and no GT driver has anything to hang his head low about, the GT hung with a guy driving a Murcialago. Still, it's cool to see a Camaro owning a high dollar car.

I agree they are more than just straight line racing. But the guys who buy those have the I have a 500 horse $150,000 sticker price plus what the dealer dicided to add to it to screw me even harder. I just hate the way those guys act cause they have money.

well watch what happens when you throw a curve into the mix. as far as power goes, your comparing a 5.7 liter car to a 5.4 granted the ford gt is blown. the ls1 had heads, cam, and 150 SHOT! if that ford gt put a 30 dollar pulley on the outcome would be devastating. the ford gt routinely dynos 500 plus at the wheels. credit to both cars but the ford gt isnt all of a sudden a waste of money jus because one person has a car thats faster. the actual ford gt competition is the ferrari 360 modena and f430 and it makes fairly quick work of both cars and other much more expensive exotics, but i guess they are crap as well. there will always be a faster car. also the driveability a dohc modular i assure you is better then any cammed pushrod engine. before i get flamed for that statement , i have a cammed pushrod engine in my car and love it but i know that it doesnt idle like a dohc modular engine does.
