iam looking at buying a 99 Z28, all stock with leather, t-tops, 12 disc, blah,,blah, blah. pretty much all the opitions and its a M6. iam getting it for 11k with 38k miles on it, good deal? also the drive window doesnt work, needs a new motor. is this common in these cars? whats the stock gear ratio in the rear end? and do you know how much they normally weight? and the horespower its rated at?

Sounds like a good deal to me considering the mileage. I got my 98 z28 with 78k miles for $7800.

I'd say 11k for 38k on the clock is a pretty good deal...but it also depends on your area, go to kbb.com to check out the value for where you live.
Yea the driverside burned out motor is very common...you can go to autozone and get a good one with a lifetime warranty.
You have a M6 so your rear gear is 3.42's....ehhh a ls1 fbod weighs about 3450 or so....hp is underrated at 305hp at the crank, but it actually puts that much down at the wheels. GM didn't want the fbodies and their flagship vette to put down the same numbers on paper for obvious reasons...so they said the TA and maro have 305, but they really have around 345/350 at the crank.

thanks for your input, if i decide to put 4.10s in it will it eliminate the point of a 6th gear? also waht mods would benfit the car the most for performance? is there any other common problems with these cars?

No, if anything youll want to stay in 6th gear more often .. 6th gear is a lifesaver for gas mileage.
