spec stage 5 question

I built my new motor and installed a new spec stage 5 in the car. During the break in period it screetches like hell. I called spec and asked them if this is normal and they said that it is. They also said that it will go away after about 500 break in miles, but I would still be able to hear the discs engaging. This is a springless dump and go clutch. just wondering if anyone inhere has this clutch and if it is still making the screetching noise. Thank you. :think:

i'm gonng cross post this-a guy in KY has a twin turbo vette with spec 5-i'll see what he says.

yes it is normal, our TT vette has one in it, although the 500 mile breakin has not been accomplished yet. The screeching is just part of building a car that needs that stout of a clutch, if ya don't like the screeching, don't build the motor that far.

thanks a lot. Ya I definately have one hell of a motor on my hands. Tell your friend that I have reached 1500 miles , and the loudness of the screetching went away, but it is still there during take off. Spec sais this is normal. And that it will always be there. thanx again.
