Its when there is slop (too much space) between the piston and the cyl wall.

It sounds like a diesel engine, usually around 2500 rpm. Some LS1s have it, some don't. GM says it doesn't affect performance, apparently.

will it mess ur car up? b/c i have it at idle if i rev to 1k and when it drops down it does it... is my motor gonna blow up of something one day?

well i never had it until i switched to moible,... u think i should switch back? i need good advice... because its kind of bad ... just when the idles droppin

Are you runnin 5W30? A higher viscosity oil will at least reduce slap, but I wouldn't do 20W50 if I were you. Try 10W30 or 10W40... hell, see what Rotella T 15W40(diesel engine oil) does in it.

i mixed 10-30w moibleone full syn. w/ lucas oil stabilizer... thinking about putting alittle seafoam in to keep pcv clean. duno... new oil and stabilizer helped. never had this prob. with non syn. might switch back if it doesnt get better. but i was told full syn. is the best thing for the ls1.
