yeah, your 60ft's are killin you. If you could get thouse down to about 1.8 you would be running some low 13's. Find you some DR's. Thouse traps are kinda low I just noticed.

Ya im gettin LCA's and a PHB to help my launches. Im not gettin any DR's cuz its a street car so thats the way im gonna race it. I was thinkin my traps were kinda low too, could that be because of the 60'?
Thanks

nope, usually you get higher traps when you spin the tires more and lower traps when you hook more. Looks like your spinning quite a bit. Might just be the ammount of miles you have on the motor. Trap speeds can be indicative of how much HP you have.
As far as your DR arguement, you can run DR's on the street. Nittos will last 15k or more if you dont drive around like your at the track all the time. They are street legal tires. You just have to be carefull when you start geting low on tread. They don't like wet roads at all.

Well my current tires are brand new and seem to hook up pretty well, its just me being shitty at launching thats holding me back.
I will be going back to the track this friday, but I will have a lid by then and hopefully get a 13.2

seem to hook prety well. I guess that depends on what your definition of hooking well is. You will always spin on street tires and you will never get the full potential out of the car with street tires.

that is what is killing ur 60'
WHAT!?!?! RT's have nothing to do with 60ft times. The clock does not start ticking untill you break the beam at the starting line. You could have a 5 sec RT and still cut a 1.6 60ft.

Your car is easily capable of low 13's right now as it sits. 1st off, shift that thing a little quicker :yup: I think you can trap higher. If you pull a decent 60 at those traps you'll probably run a 13.4 fairly easy. Put a lid and catback on it and youll pick up about 4 MPH on your traps. I did! :slash: ENjoy your car !

I wonder what a 103k-mile 2000 WS6 A4 should get? Fastest I could do with TCS on was 14.07... without TCS I just couldn't hook... even though I had brand-new tires.. purchased the morning I went to the track... Khumo Ecsta STPs

isn't the formula lighter, therefore faster?
and can you please describe the technique you used to launch?
I was doing some reading on these forums yesterday, and I read something about TM (torque management,) which, with TCS enabled(maybe even without), will actually lower the power output of the motor under stressful conditions... like when you are powerbraking at the drag strip... so maybe the reason I was getting 14.07s was because of the TCS... I had brand new tires and even still, I was getting the "low traction" light... without TCS I would smoke them all day... makes me want to get some slicks...

i think the formula is a little bit lighter but im a prertty big guy 260... i have nitto 555r drag radials. there for i could brake torque a little harder off the line but before the drag radials i was running 13.5's at about the same mph

There is torque management but its not going to make a difference in your times if your not geting traction anyway.
