I see there is an aftermarket velocity stack which goes in the throttle body of a LS1. I have the 55mm MAF and air lid. Does aanyone have this velocity stack in their car? If so have you noticed any differences?

:thumbdn: Velocity Stack, Vornado, all that crap you shove in the intake path to straighten up or twist air flow. . . . . .all crap. Only thing that has ever been worth a damn is the TPIS Air Foil for the TPI motors.

I think they are talking about the smooth bellows thing. basically a smoother joining between the intake lid and the throttle body. I have 2 friends with c5 vettes, and one put the vararam on his car. When they race now, his car jumps out off the line better and just keeps pulling on him. So it must work.

The vararam velocity stack and the smooth bellows are not the same thing. I have both on my WS-6. I'm not sure if the vel. stack made any difference because I put it on at the same time I installed my SLP lid, smooth bellows, TB coolant bypass. The whole package definetly added a SOTP noticeable increase but I would agree that the lid and the bellows are the major contributing factors and the vel. stack and the TB bypass may both only add 2 ponies combined at the most.

2 hp which is the equivalent of taking a dump before the race, it will produce the same power to weight ratio

works fine on my 98 trams am but ofcoarse polishing the throttle body helps too,
the way i see it the better the flow into the motor restriction free and smooth as glass helps out. i ported and honed the zo6 intake as well. Lingenfelter!
there is all kinds of ways to spend money spending it wisely and on the right parts is the chemical balance.
