Hey all,

I've been doing lots of research, checkin through lots of forums and going through many dyno sheets. A lot of people are saying that our T/A's WS6's Z28s and SS's may have around 30 more hp than advertised. Reason being is when these cars were on the showroom floor, they did not want to advertise having as much power as the Vette (just like back in the 70s for sales "ego" reasons).

The advertised hp for example on a stock 99 T/A Z28 M6 is 305...The average numbers on a dyno sheet for these bone stock cars i've been finding are btw 295-310. Now for a car that has 305 at the motor and around 300 at the wheels..means there must be MORE than 305 at the crank, should be around 330-340 at the crank. And if you check out GMs advertised hp on their Vette....its 345! Put one and one together!!

I also found this interesting article...scroll down past the links to Question 4 or 5....

I read this and got giddy!..Hope everyone else will too!!

doesn't surprise me...it's all the same engine. start bolting on some mods and yeah, i'm sure your crank will be in the 350+ range. horse power is a fake term anyway. Torque is what's important.

Torque is important, but not everything. Otherwise, that 200 hp, 650 ft-lb tq. diesel truck would be kicking ass at the drag strip. You need high torque AND high RPM's, which equates to high HP.

I did not. Apparantly not everyone. Thank you for speaking on behalf of the whole F-Body community though, way to be.
