Okay i have an exhaust leak up under the hood, coming from this particular tube, dont know the name, but i had flowmaster full exhaust installed, but my car still didnt sound clean and smooth like i wanted, and a friend of mine said i probably had an exhaust leak, but not knowing much about it, i fgured it was from up under the car dealing with the installation, so i had a resonator put on, and still my exhaust wasnt sounding clean and smooth. comign to find out it was up under the hood.

So does fixing an exhaust leak, have a difference as far as the cleanness and smooth sound of your exhaust?

Most of the time you can tell it's an exhaust leak because it sounds like a "ticking " noise. Kinda like a time-clock. Do you have headers? It might be an Exhaust manifold that's leaking and needs a new gasket.

dont have headers, just full flowmaster american thunder 80 series ...yes it is a ticking noise, because i thought it the engine, but found out it was an exhaust leak, my question is, does an exhaust leak, have an affect of how your car sounds

Well it's obviously gonna have an effect on how it sounds cause if you can hear the ticking so can everyone else. Your also loosing HP with an exhaust leak. You probably have a blown gasket somewhere, which is cheap and easy to fix.

i had it checked for a gasket, its not a gasket, just exhaust leak, a friend noticed that it was a leak as i was driving away from his house, he called me up and told me it sounded like i had an exhaust leak, i thought it was coming from my mufflers, because my exhaust sounded different, but it was actually a tube.hose from under the hood
