I have BF KDWS tires on my camaro and i am wondering if those are going to give me a good launch at the track or should i just wait till i find some drag raidails (sp). Gateway international race way Near St. Louis opened today and i did not see any camaros TAs or mustangs with KDWS those tires. any personal expierence with those tires will help.
P.S. i have no suspension work.
thanks, joe

i have kdw 275/40/17 and they dont bite at a launch over about 2200 rpms. i got a 60 foot time of 2.2 gripping at a low rpm launch and 2.1 with some spinning. i really dont think they are a good track tire. i like them a lot from abut a 30 roll and up but not from a dig.

Thanks for the info. I have never had them at the track. since i cant start from a dead stop on the street i cant imagine the track being a whole lot different than new concrete. i guess i will start looking for a good set of track tires.

KDWS's are even worse than KDW's for the track. I had some on my camaro (245/50 16) and the best 60' I was able to cut was about a 2.15ish and that was about perfect for those tires. I have since got some Nitto NT555R's in the same size. After 5 launches on them, I managed a 1.978 with a good bit more grip in them launching at ~3500 rpm

yes. and i know that my tires suck not to mention the guy that had the car before me hardly drove it (old tires) so the tires are not as soft anymore. i am doing my part to :drivin: rost them off.

Yeah I ran my car for the 1st time ever (for me and the car) last night with KDW's. Only able to make one pass before being rained out. I run 275-35-18 and I got a 2.196 60'. Sounds like I did good for the type of tires I was running :)
