I just purchased a 2001 B4C Camaro and would like to know what are the largest tires that I can put on the rear without rubbing (I have the ten spoke wheels)? Thank you,

I'm interested in this also. I am preparing to buy an NC B4C 2001 within the next week or two myself.

If your talking about the 16x8 inch wheel..The largest I have ever put on that size wheel is 255/50/16 (stock being 245/50/16)...
If you have the 17x9 inch ten spoke SS wheel,I have seen 285/40/17 used on them.(stock being 275/40/17)
The largest wheel/tire combo people seem to pull off with out many (if any) probs is a 17x11 wheel out back fitted with a 315/35/17 tire...17x9 in the front with 275/40/17 tires....
I currently have this combo on my stock height SS (no pics yet) and have had no problems except for an occasional MINOR rub under extended suspension travel.(Like Large speed bumps and steep driveways...etc...)
Hope this helps you out man....

I would assume that you could fit 275's on 8 inch wheels. Has anybody done that yet?

I assume its possible...
Here is the part that leaves me guessing...I have noticed that many people will caution against a 275 tire on an 8 inch wide wheel (usually talking about 16 and 17 inch wheels).Yet,I see 255s,265s,and 275s put on drag racing wheels (Welds, usually in 15x8 sizing with 275/60/15 tires)all the time.
There has to be a reason why people will "over size" a 15x8 wheel and yet caution against doing it to a 16x8 or 17x9 ( I have seen people squeeze 295 and 315 tires on 9 inch wide wheels).

cause people usually only drag race those..once your on the street with them...the wider tire with more side wall will felex more making handling worse.

On an 8" as noted i would confine to a 255, and a 9" a 285. On standard street tires sidewalls are much stiffer, and on drag radials and full slicks the have a soft sidewall for more bite and transfer of rotational inertia. The softer sidewall allows for more flex, i.e. wider tire

LMPerformance carries them as well as some non sponsor sites. PM if info needed.

If you have the stock 16-inch wheel the widest tires you'll usually find for the street are only 255s as opposed to the 245s on a Z, and those that I found in that size were M/T and BFG DOT drag radials. And yeah, thats as wide as you would want on an 8-inch wide wheel anyway.

I wanted the 17 x 11 in the rear but did not like the style that was offered. I purchase 18 x 10.5 in the rear and went with 305/35 nitto555RII tires - fronts are 275/35/18
the 305/35/18 measures 12.25 across and the 315/35/17 measures 12.1 so I ended up with what I wanted. what did it cost me? the 305/35/18 came out to be .52 taller so I lost a little in the gearing and I did have to smack the inner wheel well a little but it does not touch and I did NO CUTTING or WELDING or SPACERS TO MAKE IT WORK:)

Sounds great, do you have photos of this setup?

yeah, you would'nt want the tire to come off the rim on a corner, that would suck:yup:

As I said before, your not going to find anything wider than a 255 for your 16-inch rim anyway, so the point is moot. If you want 265s, 275s, 295s, 315s or whatever, you gotta buy at least 17-inch wheels, and when (and if) you are ready to do that, just get wheels wide enough to accomodate whatever tire width you want, and modify your wheel wells and fenders accordingly.:)
