I just purchased a mint 2001 Z28 (auto) that was used by the North Carolina State Police. It doesn't have any crazy holes in it and it came in all black. I want to extract the most performance from it as possible and need to know where to start to get around 400 rwhp? It already has the LS6 intake, so that's one less thing to worry about. What would it take to get this car running in the 12's and the 11's? Thank you all! I can't wait to see how the LS1 takes to modifications.:)

The first thing if you want it to be in the 11's is sub frame connectors. After that get a lid, long tubes, y pipe, catback, cam, stall, and dr's and a tune and you should be in the 11's. Watch for the rear end if you get dr's though.

What size cam would be best for my goals? Any specific for naturally aspirated cars? What stall would be best with mostly street (90%)/ track
(10%)? Would gears be helpful (it has 3.23 gears)? Thank you for your suggestions,

What should I use (lock-up or non lock-up)? Who sells a good converter for our trannys for a good price? Thank you for all the suggestions,

I'm not too impressed with the auto tranny. It shifts real slow when you get on it. It takes awhile before this car will haul. I'm not even sure if it will roll the tires. It definitely needs a converter and probably a shift kit. It has the 3.23 gears and that might have something to do with it. Any suggestions? Thanks,

I am looking at the LT Pacesetter headers. Does it really matter if they are coated or not? I live in the South, so we don't think it's as important. Who sells these for the cheapest price? I was looking at the Patriot stage II heads. I just need to figure out a cam still. I'm looking at a 3500 stall right now. Being that I have the auto, 3.73 gears do sound right for my application. What is a good catback that won't sound too crazy with the cam, headers and heads on? Is the stock MAF sensor and tb good enough to get 400 hp at the wheels? Anything else? Thank you,

There's a possibility that the PCM needs to be upgraded. My A4 shifts well, and will light the tires from 50mph. There are no real mods to speak of, just SFCs, tunnel and shock tower braces and cooling system upgrades.
