I have a billet grille that I want to paint black. What is the best kind of paint for the job and where do I buy it? Can I use spray can paint? Thanks guys.

Or should I just have it powder coated? How much would that cost me? Thanks guys.

I used to think powder coating was expensive to get into. I got a cataloge by accedent (didn't order it, plus it belonged to someone else.... Hey whoever you are, thanks ;) ). And for the powder coating kit it is like $200-500 bucks and you can get into the business. It's very similar to buying a paint sprayer and all the bells and whistles. The powder is sooo much cheaper than buying paint to paint a car.

Or you could just have it done... :D. Shouldn't be too much.

I have a stull billet grille (brushed alum) I'm thinking about painting black too. Going to clean it, rough it up a little with a scotchbrite, and spray it with black enamel out of a can.

Do not use the spray bomb. Go to a auto paint store and take the grill with you. They will definitely tell you to rough up the grill, but at least someone selling you the paint will be able to suggest the best kind.

If your gonna paint it make sure that you use primer as well or the paint will chip right off.
