i have a 1994 Z28 with LT4 hotcam kit and ported heads. It runs ok except that the idle is a little rough.... until i hit the gas and it smokes the tires. I took it to emissions testing and I noticed a couple days later that the cooling fans turn on as I flip the ignition switch to on and the car hasn't even started yet. They stay on until I turn the car off. I hope the emissions center didnt screw up my Computer somehow. It is the only thing I can think of. I took the connector off the water pump sensor and the fans still ran. I took the relays out and the fans shut off and turned back on when i replaced them. The engine was cold at the time so that rules out high temp switch I think. I have no trouble codes either. So what is the problem here? I am puzzled.:help:

maybe your ac switch is on just enough for your fans to turn on and you havent noticed it yet....just a thought

Check to see if your maf sensor is plug in...Thats a sign when the fans are always on.

There may be a ground somewhere.

there is definitely a ground somewhere. I discovered what the toggle switch under the cigarette lighter was for....it turns the fans on whenever i feel a need to use them. I always wondered why that toggle switch was there...hehehe. I guess the owner before me read up on manual override of the fans.

I was going to ask if you had a fan switch but thought it would have been obvious to you if you did
