I no longer use my car for street use. I am interested in putting a new exaust on the car, headers into x-pipe into mufflers into turndown in front of rear differential. Getting rid of the EGR valve, as well as the whole AIR pump and hose assembelly, plus the cats. Am I going to get a SES light, and will the ECM (computer) force the engine to run like crap, to compensate for a "malfunctioning" emission system?
Any experiance with eliminating emission systems. Any benefits, other than unclutering the engine bay, and getting rid of about 30 lb's?

Yes, you will set the SES light, especially from removal of the EGR. (Some have removed just the AIR w/o setting codes at all, or only intermittently) The codes that are set won't affect how the engine runs, however. You pretty much have the benefits covered.

In reference to the first question i was wandering if anybody had or could find a breakdown on installing non emissions headers on cars equiped with egr and air. I am having trouble understanding how to remove the T-valve on top of the intake where all three air pump hoses come together. It has a small sorce of vaccum to it and im not shore how or where to block it off at or if it even matters.
