Last night i put pacesetter longtubes on my 01 ss, with ory, i put o2 sims in the rear but after about 30miles of drivin my check engine light came on the codes said my front and rear o2's werent workin. took it too a local shop and he said there reading just really low. Any ideas? i spliced the 02 wires to make them long enough. was this a good idea? i might have used one of the old rear ones in the header also. someone told me to get new sensors for the front and extension's that are pre made but will this fix the problem? it doesnt seem to be running much diff but i dont wanna drive it with the faults bc im afraid ill blow somethin up. is it safe to drive?
any input would be great

should just be running in open loop mode (which is a preset tune)if the sensors arnt working, which means you gas mileage will suck balls. you dont have cats so no worries really....

you dont use your o2 sensors when you have it to the floor anyways, even if they are working properly.

you wanna fix it though obviously

could be something as simple as just in the wiring?

Are you saying you spliced the front 02 wires?

You should have bought 02 extensions.

to be honest i didnt know i needed extensions, and i agree i should have gotten extenstions and monday i will be ordering some. Yes i spliced the front 02 wires together, thats what the kit said to do. i think i was hoping that the factory harness would be long enough but i know now there not

As for the rear 02 code. Just make sure the sims are plugged in all the way. Did you splice the rear wiring??

The wiring for the O2 sensors does more than just carry electricity. According to the factory-they carry oxygen to the O2 sensor for a reference of fresh air. If they are modified they won't work properly. It doesn't go into any other info about how exactly they do that so I can't answer how to modify them, your guess is as good as mine there. The rear sims should be sending a "good" signal independant of the front signals so I'm not sure why it would be off also .

all the local people say they would just splice them together to fix them but im thinkin im just gonna order some extensions on monday and hope the car isnt bein tore up by the issue. Seems like a last case thing to "splice" a wire that if not done perfect then the comp picks up on it and inreturn sends a trouble code. anyone near nc got any they wanna get off there hands? would be willin to pick up like now.
do you think this would be bad for the motor if there runnin weird?
cars only got 10 thou miles on it and not wanting to risk it.
thanks for your input
