Hope this isn't a repost... didn't find it in search...

Cop picking on a guy with brand new drag radials DOT approved driving on the street. Found it to be entertaining... I've always been a little scared of the same thing happening to me.

The big "HOOSIER" on the side walls probably got the cop's attention. He was pretty lenient just driving away like that though. I''m used to seeing cops push thier point a little more.

Yeah I guess I could see it goign either way. The cop knew he was wrong about halfway through their ordeal but at the same time the guy was nagging him enough to where I would think a lot of cops would have gotten a little more aggressive. He definitely took his defense but didn't blow up on him. Definitely put him in an awkward situation and he just wanted out

Im guessing the cop just diden't want to admit that he was wrong. I bet he diden't even show up for the cort proceedings.

I love the line "I can sit and argue all day about this with you, Iv got other things to do." and he replied with "Apparently not, your giveing me a ticket for my tires man." LOL!!!!!

The kid really wasn't being a dick at all, he was being pretty respectful... and he was right, so I think he should have argued his point.

Also, kid said, "I just bought them last month." That would mean nothing to me. It's not like they are regualr all season radials. Our "DOT" DR's have very little tread life on the street and wear pretty fast when your'e burning them up at the track before every run.

that is true, but he was willing to measure the tread depth and did infact measure it but the cop did not stick around for it. you bring a good point though

Some friends and I were out one night shining deer(which is legal in indiana if there is no wepons in the vehicle). We found a buck on his uncles farm land we we drove out the field lane to count the points. We got back on the road and a cop pulled us over. He said, "do you know what you boys are doing is illegal?" We replied, "it's perfectly legal officer." He went to the car to look that up and came back and said it is legal but not if you are on someone elses land. We told him it was my friends uncles so he goes back to the car for 20 more minutes and comes back being as nice as my grandma and before he was a dick. It was funny to make that dick look like an ass:) just like this guy did.

That was awesome. IMHO, the kid was trying to be respectful and inform the cop that, hey, here's the deal at the same time. I can't blame the kid. I mean, who wants to waste their time going to court for something in the first place. Even when you win, it ate up your time.

The cop didn't want anything to do with the kid proving himself. And when the cop went to read what the law states, he gave up. Probably because he wasn't sure of himself, or that he would find the law. Either way, by DOT standards, all you have to have, to the best of my knowledge, is 2/32nds of an inch tread. On a semi, you have to have 4/32nds on the steering axle. So, the cop learned a lesson.

Good for that kid.

Very cool video, the kid is lucky the cop was cool about it all, because the kid was being a punk. It helps to know your rights! Good job getting out of the ticket.
