Throttle body cables

On the LS1 throttle body there are two cables going to it but I have noticed in several pictures posted here that people have removed the outer cable from the TB. What is the cable that is being removed for, and what good does it do to remove it? Thanks!

If you have traction control then you don't have the outer cable which is cruise control, it's all controlled by the throttle cable in trac control cars

cool...I didn't know that either. I knew the other cable is for cruise control....but I wondered why I have cruise and no cable, never brought it up because everything works good
